Because I'm sure a couple of people might be curious...
I started with the arm steeks. Small, sharp scissors and my fortification of choice: herbal tea, because as much as I would like caffeine or beer at this point, I feel that would be tempting fate.
Eyes on the prize, eyes on the prize....
First inch in...
Almost there...
Ok. Phew. Moving on. Right then, other armhole.
Aaaand a tube is now a pullover!
I will spare you more detail shots, so magically, the pullover is now a cardigan!
I'm now working on the lovely lovely garter bands, and there is a definite sense of relief in the air.
Hope y'all are well, people!
You are very brave. I still can't bring myself to even think about cutting my knitting, especially something as complex as that cardigan looks.
ReplyDeleteSteeking. um, let me just say that I wanted to run away while looking at those pictures. You are far braver than myself. That and steking just confuses me. looks amazing though!
ReplyDeleteWow, congratulations! You're definitely braver than I am.
ReplyDeleteOO scary. I am comin up on a project that entails the snipping and the cutting and the scaring me half to death.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteOh micheal, well done!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hold my breath even looking at the photo's and wanted a glass of wine after it but...hey...it's 8 am over here so I guess it's a little too early to go and take wine although it's winetime somewhere...
I love it and thanks for the photo's You've really done a very great job with this.
Excellent! :)
ReplyDeleteStill pretty scarey though, me thinks. Maybe when I've had a few too many to care. :)
I've heard of people knitting fair isle square and cutting into them to make a jumper so as not to disturb the pattern with shaping whilst knitting but never seen it done! Brave move - love the tube/cardigan - particularly the colour!
ReplyDeleteamazing!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see it all done. the pattern along is looking really sweet right now.
You are truly amazing! Brave man! I've been wanting to try steeks for over a year now and have wanted to make the venezia pullover, but haven't gotten the strength to do so yet! Eeep!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the finished product!
phew! that was intense.
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see it finished!
You brave soul! good job on conquering this knitting milestone! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the comment on my bike. A lot of people here just don't understand...
I'm glad it went well. I knew you would have no problem. It looks lovely. The tea was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteIntense - but captivating. Not as scary as crashing but a good occasion for that tea. Crochet steeks? I just did the stitched kind and let me tell you, round sweaters don't stretch well on a sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteShow the finished sweater soon!
Cool! Thanks for sharing the amazing feat with us. It looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteAHHHH! Scissors to knitting gives me the willies!
ReplyDelete(good job, though)
